Magazine and Newspaper Articles
Access to over 4 million magazine and newspaper articlesis
available via the Library's Articles
& Databases link. Most of the searchable online databases
contain
full-text articles and cover a myriad of subjects. When you
locate
an article, options are provided to print or email (and in some cases,
download) that article. Online access is available anytime
to registered students. Give us a call at (530) 242-7551 if you

Books
More than 70,000 books (and other materials) are housed
in our collection. Come in and search the Library's collections
via
the Library
Catalog or browse the stacks, find a book, and relax in one of our
comfy chairs.

Featuring a revolving collection of popular fiction and non-fiction
books for check out.
Online eBooks
Over 18,500 electronic books are available 24/7 through
the Library's web page. Go to Online

Videos/DVD's
More than 4,500 videos and DVD's are housed in our
collection,
searchable online via the Library
Catalog. Faculty may reserve titles in advance by booking the
video/DVD
with Circulation Staff. Pick up a booking form or
call 242-7550 to book the title of your choice. NOTE: Registered
Shasta
College students may now select a title to view in the Library on one
of
our videotape/DVD players or check it out for two days.
Internet Resources
Although the Internet contains much good information, numerous web
sites are unreliable. Fortunately, many excellent guides and resources
are designed to help your students critically evaluate Web pages.
Local Links

Internet
Index are two Web guides that will direct you to useful and
reliable
sites containing good information. Consider
the Source: Evaluating Research Tools and Thinking
Critically about World Wide Web Resources are two additional online
tools that will help critical evaluation of Web pages under your
consideration
for research. The Library also provides a Search
Internet page, containing links to the major Internet search
engines,
meta-engines, directories, and other guides.

Virtual Access
Most Library resources are available 24 hours per day, 7 days
per week via the Shasta College Library Web site.
Reference Desk Assistance
Reference Staff is always available to assist you or your students
with research and other questions during open Library hours.

We offer Library Orientations for your classes throughout the semester.
